Cirila Estela Vasquez Guzman, PhD

Community Leadership Director

I am passionate about researching and being part of transforming the face and practice of modern medicine. Addressing institutionalized inequities, structural competency, Anti-Racism and whiteness within the healthcare system is necessary in order to improve the holistic care delivered to diverse marginalized populations including Native Americans and Latinx immigrants. I am part of the RELATE team because relationships are at the heart of change and authentic sustainable transformation. Expanding our networks, building meaningful relationships, and having challenging conversation within a brave space among and between different disciplines as well as industries is critical. As a first generation Latina immigrant indigenous scholar myself, I aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice from an equity and inclusion perspective because we all win when we have a compassionate, representative, and humanistic healthcare system. It is truly a pleasure to be a part of this fantastic team who leads by example in order to have the next generation of healthcare providers be agents of change to create a stronger and better tomorrow in medicine.
